A MOTORCYCLIST involved in a horror crash on the A487 last weekend has tragically passed away.
The motorbike rider has died almost a week after he was involved in a road traffic collision near Machynlleth.
The man, who was in his 50s and from the Lancashire area, died at Morriston Hospital in Swansea this morning (Friday, 14 July).
North Wales Police are investigating the one-vehicle collision which happened shortly before 1.20pm on Sunday, 9 July on the A487 in Pantperthog.
The motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital in Swansea by the Air Ambulance and although he was in a “critical condition”, he was also though to be “stable”.
Sadly, the injuries sustained after the motorcyclist hit the metal crash barrier proved fatal.
PC Rhys Williams of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Sadly we can confirm that the man died earlier this morning and our thoughts remain with his family.
“The collision is being investigated and we are appealing for any witnesses to contact us.”
The coroner for the Swansea area has been informed.
